Ama Dablam climbing is probably the second most popular climbing in Everest region after Mt. Everest expedition. Ama Dablam is a difficult and technical mountain for climbing in the Himalayas. Ama Dablam climbing is conceived as the most beautiful alpine rock and ice climbing of its kind. Although the peak is not so high, only 6812m, the summit of Ama Dablam offers magnificent views of several 8000n. peaks of the Himalayas. Ama Dablam climbing justifies the highest level of climbing artistry in mountaineering. South-West Ridge is the normal route for Ama Dablam climbing with three high camps above Ama Dablam base camp.
Unlike other mountains, Ama Dablam climbing is generally planned in autumn season. The best time for Ama Dablam expedition is from September till end of November. Ama Dablam climbing trip begins with the flight to Lukla and half way trekking on Everest base camp trekking trail. From Pangboche, the route takes to the east to vast pasture land with great views of Ama Dablam. Base camp is established on large meadow.

Getting of the permit completing the official formalities and expedition preparation.
Transfer to airport for the flight of half an hour to Lukla with great views of the mountains. Easy walk to Phakding for approximately three hours.
Walk through forest passing Dhudhkosi River crossing several suspension bridges to Namche with sights of Kusum Kangru, Everest & Nuptse.
Hike up to Everest View Hotel for better views of Everest and acclimatization. A pleasant day to explore around Namche talking to the Sherpas and marveling at the incredible scenery
Hike up and down through forest and mani stones to Tengboche (3870m.). Great views of Kwangde (6,187m.), Everest (8,848m.),Nuptse ( 7,879m.), Lhotse, Tawache & Amadablam.
Cross Dudhakoshi River and gradually ascend to Ama Dablam base camp.
Moving up through old grassy moraine ridges passing through a saddle and then turning to north climbing up rocky ground and through boulders to the ridge to set up camp I is set up at an altitude of 19,070 feet. cross a rocky bowl and climb the ridge frequently alternating the sides along the fixed lines to the Yellow Tower.
Climbing steep mixed gully’s of rock, ice and snow to a ramp and then steep ice and snow runnel to the ridge for camp III. Steep climb on snow and ice to the right of a huge hanging glacier and then the perfect 50 degree snow and ice face to the summit. The summit offers the spectacular views of the giant mountains including, Everest, Lhotse, Nuptse, Pumori, Makalu, Baruntse. Return to camp II and then to base camp.
After successfully summiting return to Lukla.
Fly to Kathmandu in the morning.
Free day in Kathmandu
Transfer to airport for departure.
