Everest Expedition

Everest expedition is a dream for the mountaineers throughout the world to step the highest point on the earth . The trekkers are contended with the close view of Everest from the top of Kalapatthar leaving their foot prints at Everest base camp, however for the mountaineers climbing Mt. Everest and leaving their foot marks at the summit, the highest point on the earth is the ultimate goal of climbing in the Himalayas.

Although Mt. Everest can be approached from north side, Everest expedition from the South Col has remained the most popular among the mountaineers. The reason is good record of success with short distance approach to the summit. Trekking through beautiful Sherpa villages with spectacular mountain scenery to reach the base camp for Everest expedition from Nepal allure mountaineers to climb Everest via South Col.


Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Meeting at the airport and transfer to a hotel. A briefing of the expedition at a convenient time

Day 02: Kathmandu – Lukla – Phakding (2,652m/8,700ft): 3 – 4 hrs.

Flight to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft) with spectacular views of breathtaking Himalayas. Take easy walk to Phakding for approximately three hours.

Day 03: Phakding – Namche Bazaar (3440 m): 5 – 6 hrs

Walk through beautiful pine forest passing Dhudhkosi River crossing several suspension bridges to Namche with sights of Kusum Kangru, Everest & Nuptse.

Day 04: Acclimatization Day at Namche Bazaar

Hike up to Everest View Hotel for better views of Everest and acclimatization. A pleasant day to explore around Namche or hike up to Khumjung / Thame.

Day 05: Namche Bazzar to Tengboche (3,870m) – 5 – 6 hrs.

Hike up and down through forest and mani stones to Tengboche (3870m.). Great views of Kwangde (6,187m.), Everest (8,848m.),Nuptse ( 7,879m.), Lhotse, Tawache & Amadablam.

Day 06: Tengboche to Pheriche (4,240 m): 5 – 6 hrs

Walk through the forest of briches, conifers & rhododendrons and some magnificently carved mani stones to Pangboche and further passing through beautiful array of fields to Pheriche

Day 07: Rest & Acclimatization day in Pheriche.

Hike up to to a ridge for acclimatization

Day 08: Pheriche – Lobuche ( 4930m. ): 5 – 6 hrs.

Follow narrow valley and contour around the base of the Khumbu Glacier and steep ascend to Lobuche.

Day 09: Lobuche – Everest base camp (5364m., 5 – 6 hrs.)

Follow lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to Gorakhshep with the views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. Move further towards to Everest base camp for amazing views of Khumbu Ice Fall.

Day 10 – 45: Climbing

Khumbu Ice Fall is crossed in the fixed lines and the aluminum ladders to the plateau of the Western Cwm at camp 1, 6200m. Traverses the flattish bottom of the Western Cwm to the rocky moraine below the west –face of Everest. ClimbLhotse face initially on 40 – 65 degrees slope and then easy slope of 30 – 40 degrees to a flattish section protected by solid ice walls at about 7200m. camp 3. Climbing Lhotse wall crossing short snow field to the east before finishing the flats of South Col. Camp IV, 8000m. Climbing on snow, ice and rock fields to the Hilary Steps and then to the summit.

Day 46 – 50: Retrace to Lukla.

After successfully summiting the Everest return to Lukla.

Day 51: Flight from Lukla – Kathmandu

Fly to Kathmandu in the morning.

Day 52: Free day in Kathmandu.

 Free day in Kathmandu.

Day 53: Airport Transfer.

Transfer to airport for departure.
