Although Mt. Everest can be approached from north side, Everest expedition from the South Col has remained the most popular among the mountaineers. Flight to Lukla (2,800m/9,186ft) with spectacular views of breathtaking Himalayas. Take easy walk to Phakding for approximately three hours.
Walk through beautiful pine forest passing Dhudhkosi River crossing several suspension bridges to Namche with sights of Kusum Kangru, Everest & Nuptse.
Hike up to Everest View Hotel for better views of Everest and acclimatization. A pleasant day to explore around Namche or hike up to Khumjung / Thame.
Hike up and down through forest and mani stones to Tengboche (3870m.). Great views of Kwangde (6,187m.), Everest (8,848m.),Nuptse ( 7,879m.), Lhotse, Tawache & Amadablam.
Walk through the forest of briches, conifers & rhododendrons and some magnificently carved mani stones to Pangboche and further passing through beautiful array of fields to Pheriche
Hike up to to a ridge for acclimatization
Follow narrow valley and contour around the base of the Khumbu Glacier and steep ascend to Lobuche.
Follow lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier to Gorakhshep with the views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Pumori, Mt. Mahalangur, Mt. Lingtern, Mt. Khumbutse, Mt. Nuptse, etc. Move further towards to Everest base camp for amazing views of Khumbu Ice Fall.
Khumbu Ice Fall is crossed in the fixed lines and the aluminum ladders to the plateau of the Western Cwm at camp 1, 6200m. Traverses the flattish bottom of the Western Cwm to the rocky moraine below the west –face of Everest. ClimbLhotse face initially on 40 – 65 degrees slope and then easy slope of 30 – 40 degrees to a flattish section protected by solid ice walls at about 7200m. camp 3. Climbing Lhotse wall crossing short snow field to the east before finishing the flats of South Col. Camp IV, 8000m. Climbing on snow, ice and rock fields to the Hilary Steps and then to the summit.
After successfully summiting the Everest return to Lukla.
Fly to Kathmandu in the morning.
Free day in Kathmandu.
Transfer to airport for departure.
