Tamang Heritage Trek 

Tamang heritage trek in Langang region is a specially designed off the beaten trail that highlights an ancient rich cultural heritage combining it with picturesque scenery of secret Langtang valley and healing baths in natural hot springs, wildlife around the secret lake of Parbati Kund, the picturesque village of Gatlang with its people’s traditional dresses and typical dances, excellent view of Snow-capped Mountains and a stroll along Rasuwa Gadi another form of the famous Chinese wall. You have a great view of mountains like Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Tibetan mountains and other peaks.

Outline Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

Day 02:  Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1460m/4790 ft): 8-9 hours (Trek Begin)

Day 04: Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2,200m/7,217ft.): 5 hours

Day 05: Gatlang – Tatopani (2607m/8550 ft): 6-7 hours

Day 06: Tatopani – Nagthali Ghyang (3165m/10383 ft) to Thumun (2338/7670 ft): 6-7 hours

Day 07: Thuman to Briddhim (2229m/7313 ft): 5-6 hours

Day 08: Briddhim-Syabrubesi(1467m/4790 ft): 5-6 hours

Day 09: Syabrubesi-Kathmandu: 8-9 hours(Trek End)

Day 10: Final Departure

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft)

Arrival at the Tribhuwan International airport, Corporate Travels representative will welcome you and transfer you to hotel in Thamel. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 02:  Kathmandu: Sightseeing and Trek Preparation

Breakfast at the hotel, we start a guided tour to four UNESCO World Heritage Sites in Kathmandu.  Swayambhunath is located in the heart of the city and is also called Monkey Temple by the tourists owing to the large number of monkeys in the temple area. Kathmandu Durbar Square holds the palaces of the ancient kings who ruled over the then Kathmandu Kingdom. Pashupatinath Temple is one of the most sacred pilgrimage sites for Hindus all over the world. The Buddhist shrine of Boudhanath is one of the largest stupas in the world, and one of the holiest Buddhist pilgrimage and tourist destinations in Kathmandu. Evening meet with trekking guide in our office for a brief orientation on our trek and receive necessary documents. Overnight stay at the hotel in Kathmandu

Day 3: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (1460m/4790 ft): 8-9 hours (Trek Begin)

Breakfast at the hotel then Driving towards the north of Kathmandu in the morning for Syabrubesi ,it takes around 8-9 hours Via a village which is also a starting point for treks into the Langtang valley. Our journey will be on a zigzagging road through frequent corners. On a clear day we get to enjoy outstanding views of Manaslu, Annapurna and Ganesh Himal. We continue until we descend to the small village of Syabrubesi, the starting point of our trek. Overnight stay in Syabrubesi.

Day 04: Syabrubesi to Gatlang (2,200m/7,217ft.): 5 hours

Our trek starts from today. From Syabrubesi, we hike across the Goljung Village enjoying views of the Ganesh Himal, Shishapangma, Langtang Lirung and others. Gatlang is a small village on the hillside with traditional stone houses. Overnight at Gatlang.

Day 05: Gatlang – Tatopani (2607m/8550 ft): 6-7 hours

We begin today’s trek with a descent to Thangbuche and soak-in magnificent views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Ranges along the way. Next, pass by the Chilime Hydropower dam and ascend until Tatopani. The name Tatopani literally means ‘hot water’ in Nepali owing to the natural hot springs there

Day 06: Tatopani – Nagthali Ghyang (3165m/10383 ft) to Thumun (2338/7670 ft): 6-7 hours

It is a tough day in our whole journey. We will climb steeply to reach Nagthali viewpoint which is at an altitude of 3165 meters. This is the highest point in our trekking. Beautiful views of Langtang Lirung, Ganesh Himal, Kerung and Sanjen are the rewards for your arduous efforts to reach this viewpoint. After spending sometime there, we will get down to Thuman village at 2240 meters altitude. On the way, we will see several ancient monasteries. Total walk on this day will be for seven hours. Today you will enjoy a homestay in Thuman village.

Day 07: Thuman to Briddhim (2229m/7313 ft): 5-6 hours

Today, we trek to Briddhim from Thuman via Lingling.  Briddhim is a Tibetan Buddhist village, ideally located on the lap of the Langtang Himal. Here, we visit the Dukchu Gomba monastery. In Briddhim, we notice that most of the houses are built by stones and are inhabited mostly by people of Tibetan origin. Briddhim in fact, resembles a typical Tibetan village on this side of Tibet.

Day 08: Briddhim-Syabrubesi(1467m/4790 ft): 5-6 hours

Bidding farewell to the host family and Briddim village, we will walk along the side of Bhote Kosi River. We will pass through more villages with traditional houses and fields. Finally after four hours of trekking, we will reach Syabrubesi.It was the starting point of our trekking and also is the end point. You will stay overnight in a lodge.

Day 09: Syabrubesi-Kathmandu: 8-9 hours

 

After a memorable trip and homestay in different villages of the Langtang region, we will now return to the capital city, Kathmandu. A bus will take about eight hours to drive you from Syabrubesi to Kathmandu. Again, the total time will also depend on the condition of the road. Once you enter Kathmandu valley, you will be taken to a hotel for rest and overnight stay

Day 10: Final Departure

Our trip representative will assist you at your hotel and transfers you to international airport for your final departure on your required time.

Best Season: The best seasons to join this trek are autumn and spring. The weather is clear and views are breathtaking. Winter obviously is a good choice but you need to withstand strong colds. Summer or Monsoon will be affected by rainfalls but a good choice if you are into botany.

Health & Experience: This trip requires you to be in good health and physically fit. So, we recommend thorough physical examination before you start the trek. Your familiarity with the mountainous terrain and previous trekking experience will be plus points.

Travel Insurance: Make sure that you are insured against cancellations, accidents, health, emergency evacuation and loss, theft of, or damage to, baggage and personal effects.
In emergency situations, we will arrange for a helicopter rescue, medical treatment and after care for you. All these costs shall be borne by your travel insurance company.

Notes: You can choose to bring these equipment yourself. However, we can help you get these things after you arrive here if you want to travel light. We will arrange your pick-up/drop-off according to your flight schedule.

Documents required:

  • Scanned copies of passport sized photo and passport of each participant

  • Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) card
  • Trekking Permit (Langtang National park ) fees

Accommodation:Basic tea house accommodation during the trek (Toilet and bathroom will be outside of the room) twin sharing basis, 3 Star standard deluxe accommodation in Kathmandu, BB Plan on twin sharing basis.You have to pay extra if you need a single room. Cases may be different for solo travelers and odd number of  groups or genetically different peoples travelling together.

Meals: 3 meals per day (breakfast, lunch and dinner, which you can choose from the menu) during the trek and  breakfast in Kathmandu

Transportation: Kathmandu-Syabrubesi-Kathmandu By local bus(private transport if demand) for clients and Guide. Airport – hotel – airport transfers and Kathmandu sightseeing by car. 

Documentation: Trekking permit (Langtang Nationalpark fees) and Trekker’s Information Management System (TIMS) card

Human Resource: A professional and experienced trekking guide (English-speaking), a porter per two trekkers and he will carry up to 25 kg. All the expenses for the guide and porter(s) are covered such as wages, accommodation, meals, transportation, insurance, etc.

Tax/Service Charge: All applicable taxes, service charges or fees. We hereby guarantee you of no ‘hidden charges’ afterwards.

Emergency Rescue Service: Should any emergency arise during your trek, we will provide prompt and professional rescue and medical services. However, you must be already insured for such emergencies, and your insurance policy must cover helicopter evacuation. Moreover, you should provide your policy details and authorize us to deal directly with your insurance company on your behalf.

All beverage (cold/Alcoholic drinks, bottled Mineral Water, boiled water, tea/coffee, etc.)

Any other expenses of personal nature (extra meals, battery charging fees, photography charges, Hot Shower, etc.)
